The tournament

Chapter 1
Sally's Disappearance

	It was a beautiful day in Mobotropolis.  In fact, it was a beautiful day 
everyday since Robotnik has been defeated for good.  Sonic was waking up. He was 
surprised not to see his usual home but Uncle Chuck's.  Then he remembered that 
they we're rebuilding Mobotropolis, starting with Uncle Chuck's neighbourhood.  
He went to see him in his room: still sleeping.  It was wonderful to see flesh 
and blood instead of metal and circuits.  Sonic decided to do a quick race 
through out Mobotropolis.  All this scrap metal and junk was sad to see but at 
least they could now rebuild it and call it "Home" again.  
When he came back home, his Uncle was still sleeping so he decided to start 
cooking the chilli for the chilli dogs.  Waken up by the sent, Charles came in 
the kitchen not long after the starting of the cooking.
	-Morning Sonic.
	-Morning Uncle Chuck.  The chilli will be ready any minute now.
	After they ate their chilli dogs, Charles left for the castle, to help 
renovate.  Sonic decided to go see Tails, who lived in the house next to his.  
Since Sonic had gave him the recipe for the chilli dogs, Tails couldn't get 
enough of it. When his young friend opened the door, the odour came to Sonic 
nose immediately
	-Still eating chilli dogs I see, said Sonic with a big grin.
	-Can't get enough of 'em.  Want a few?
	-Well I already ate… oh, why not!
	So he sat with Tails and they ate chilli dogs.  After an hour of eating 
(Sonic had ate three and Tails, four), they left for the palace.  When they 
arrived, it was a total panic.  Sonic stooped a hysterical woman: "What's all 
the fuss about?".  "The princess has disappeared!"  And she left, screaming.
	Sonic and Tails looked at each other, then raced off to Sally's room.  
Uncle Chuck and Bunnie and Rotor, who we're staying in the castle, we're there.
	Bunnie talked the first: Ho my star's!  Sally's missin!
	Rotor: The kidnapper left this message.
	Sonic took the message and read out loud:
Dear Sonic,
	I kidnapped your darling.  If you want to see her again, you must 
participate in a tournament of three obstacles: Fighting, Racing, and pass 
through a special level I created for you.  You must win in all three or else…  
Go to the floating island and get a chaos emerald.  Then, use a ring for extra 
power and jump down the island.  Throw the emerald to the ground and boost in 
it.

Dr. Robotnik
	Sonic: So ol' buttnik still not toasted?
	Tails: What are you going to do Sonic?
	Sonic: I have no choice: I'm going to save Sal.  Come lil' buddy: you have 
to take me to the floating island and help me to find Knuckles.  
	Bunnie: Good luck sugarhog.
	Rotor: Please find Sally Sonic.
	Charles: You better take two ring… you never know.
	Sonic: Right Uncle Chuck.  I'll bring her back, I promise!

Chapter 2
The arrival

	After goin to Uncle Chuck place to get rings, Sonic and Tails left for the 
floating island.  Very soon, they found Knuckles.  Sonic explained the 
situation, Tails being to exhausted to even talk.  Knuckles thought about it for 
a few minutes then he decided to let the emerald to Sonic… for this once only.  
Sonic followed him to the cave where it was stored.  When Knuckles gave it to 
him, he sensed his friend's emotion: Knuckles was the chaos emerald's guardian, 
and it was a tough time for him to give it.  
	-I'll bring it back in one piece, I swear it!
	-I know you will Sonic… I know you will.
Sonic took it and started to concentrate.  In a flash of light, Sonic took one 
of the rings and started running at light speed.  He jumped off the cliff and 
through the emerald, who was glowing of an eerie glow.  He waited for a couple 
of second and dashed like he never did!  The emerald created a sort of portal, 
which Sonic entered at light speed.  
On the other side, Sonic fell in… water.  He quickly got out and shacked to get 
dry.  He looked around: he was on an island, with a trail in front of him.  He 
dashed on the road, noticing his name on a wooden banner near the entrance.  Not 
far from there, he arrived at a square ring, with nothing around it.  There was 
also a hut near.  He ran to it.  Behind a sort of counter, there was an old man: 
"Name please" he said with a rusty voice.  "Sonic the hedgehog!" Sonic replied.  
"You are number three.  Go see the board inside on that wall to see who you will 
be fighting." said the old man while pointing at a metal wall.  "Thanks!" and he 
ran to the wall.  There we're names: 1-Mega Man 2-Earthworm Jim  3-Sonic 
hedgehog 4-Acro      5-Proto Man 6-Bobsy Bobcat 7-Miles Prover 8-Vectorman.  
-TAILS??? Shouted Sonic.
-You have someone you know too?

Chapter 3
Making new friends

Sonic turned.  It was a blue robot: My "brother" Proto man is here as well.  
We're in this together.
-You're a robot…  Created by Robotnik?
-Robotnik?  No, my creator is Dr. Light… Mega Man, to serve you, and with that, 
he extended his hand, visibly for a hand shake.
Sonic didn't move for a second, then took the hand: Sorry, it's just that from 
where I come from, robot's are our enemies.  
-I understand: I commonly fight robot's.  So, why are you here?
-My worst enemy, Dr. Robotnik, captured Sally… a princess from where I come 
from.
-Ah, close from me: Dr. Wily captured my creator, Dr. Light.  Let me guess: 
three obstacles?
-Yeah.  Well, I hope not to have to fight you Mega Man.  I'm going searching for 
Tails, want to come?
-Tails?  He's not on the list…
-His real name is Miles Prover. 
-I see.  Well, ok, I got to find Proto man as well, a robot about like me, but 
red and with a orange bandanna around his neck.
-Ok.  Miles is a orange fox with two tails.

Chapter 4
Finding old friends

They left, talking about there homelands, and searching for their friend and 
friends friend.  About ten minutes later, they came across Proto Man: "Mega Man, 
I was searching for you!"
-Me too!  Brother, this is Sonic.  He's here for the tournament as well.
-I'm sorry we have to meet in such bad conditions, Sonic.  They shook hands.  A 
few minutes, the robots we're presenting them selves to Tails.  
	Sonic: So, Tails, how come you're here?
Tails:  After you left, Knuckles ran to me, with a chaos emerald in one hand, 
and a letter in the other.  It was the exact same letter except that it had my 
name on it.  The only other difference was that it didn't mention about a ring 
but that I had to fly up to about one mile from the island and fall to the 
emerald.  Cool portal!
A voice from nowhere went off: The participants off the tournament most go in 
the corner of their number.
	Mega Man: Well, we most leave now.  Good bye Sonic and Tails.  I hope you 
can rejoin Mobius.
	Sonic: Good bye Mega Man.  Good luck to you too.
	Tails: I'm going to my corner, good luck Sonic.
	Sonic: To you too lil bro.
	And they left for their corner.  The announcer started talking: Welcome to 
the interworld tournament. You are eight participants.  Some of you have friends 
with you.  Here are the rules: For a victory, your adversary must be 
annihilated.  There will be four battles chosen randomly.  You will go in the 
dark zone until it's your turn.  Go!   And with that, all we're teleported to 
the dark zone: a no bottom hole.  

Chapter 5
The first obstacle

The first to disappear we're Mega Man and Bubsy.  The wait was about three 
minutes, when Mega Man reappeared.  The second was Tails and Earthworm Jim the 
aerobat.  Sonic was very anxious.  When Jim reappeared after an eternity of 
wait, Sonic was so mad that he tried to attack the mutated worm.  Luckily, it 
was his turn, against Vectorman.  Sonic would do his best to win.
Sonic went up on the ring, his opponent already there.  A bell rang, and it was 
the start of the match.  Immediately, Sonic changed into his metal blade form 
and dashed through Vectorman.  Reverting to his normal for, he saw him intact!  
	-Good move!  Too bad I'm made of balls!  Here, take this!
	Vectorman shot a ball, which Sonic dodged.  He jumped and kicked Vectorman 
in the face, who ducked.  Sonic tried a floor sweep but his opponent jumped and 
punched Sonic in the face.  Sonic made a summersault and jumped for an uppercut, 
that hit Vectorman hard. Vectorman was about three feet's to the edge.  He 
started shooting on Sonic who ran all over the ring.  He transformed in his 
blade and shot towards his opponents face.  Vectorman ducked but Sonic was 
prepared and he did a dual kick in his back.  Vectorman fell in the middle of 
the ring.  Sonic ran towards the middle and jumped.  He grabbed Vectorman's head 
and throw him over the edge.  There was a great explosion of light.  He heard 
"Sonic is the victorious" and got teleported to the dark zone.  
	The last contestants, Proto Man and Acro, disappeared.  About a minute 
after, Sonic got teleported, again.

Chapter 6
The race is on

	When he reappeared, he saw Mega Man and Earthworm Jim.  The old man 
talked: The last fight was even.  The two fighter lost.  Sonic turned his head 
slightly toward Mega Man, who could hardly retain his anger.  The old man 
continued: The second obstacle will be a race.  Sonic, you will go on foot.  
Jim, you'll be on your jet and you, Mega Man, will be on rush jet.  There will 
be two winners.  Let the race start!  They went to the race start.  They heard: 
3… 2… 1… Go! And they we're off.  Sonic ran as fast as he could. Jumping over 
rocks, dodging tree's and ducking under branches.  But after three minutes of 
race, he was still last, with Earthworm Jim in front of him.  He thought he had 
no chance… then he thought about the ring!  He took it, got the boost (which 
sent the worm on a tree), transformed in a blade and dashed!  He passed through 
tree's and got the lead.  He was winning!  But when he heard a voice calling for 
help, he changed back into normal.  It was Mega Man, who was attacked by the 
worm… the same worm who has killed Tails!  Sonic changed again and dashed 
towards Earthworm Jim.  He did try to dodge but it was no use.  The jet changed 
it's course with a tree.  A gigantic explosion happened and there was a big hole 
in the tree.  That was all.  There we're two opponents for the final obstacle.

Chapter 7
The final obstacle

	They we're on the start.  Their worst enemy's too: Dr. Wily and Dr. 
Robotnik, who seemed to have became big friends.  The old man started talking: 
This is the last obstacle.  Mega Man, you will be teleported in skull castle.  
You must find three weapons, that are also keys for the last level.  Sonic, 
you'll be in robotropolis.  You must find the three golden rings, that are keys 
for the last level.  You must complete the levels within 30 minutes or else…  If 
one wins, he's teleported to his original location.  The other looses then by 
default.  Ready, any last word?
	-Buttnik, is I'm going to kick your ass!
	-… was all that Mega Man managed to say.
	-Ready, 3…, 2…, 1…, Go!  And the two friends we're teleported.
	When Sonic arrived in Robotropolis, he was surrounded by Swatbots.
	-Priority one: destroy hedgehog!
	-Sorry guys: time to juice!  And he was off between the legs of one of the 
bots.  He had 30 minutes to get the three rings.  Where to search?  Robotropolis 
was gigantic!  He had to use his brains
	-Think, Sonic, think!  I got it: Uncle Chuck's house! 
	When he arrived, there was no one to guard.  He entered… and there it was: 
the first ring.  Then, out of nowhere, the metallic Uncle Chuck jumped from 
nowhere on Sonic's back.  
	-Uncle Chuck!
	-Sonic, my nephew.  I was supposed to guard this ring.  Robotnik didn't 
know that I had all my mind!  Listen closely: one of the rings is in the 
robotiser, Bunnie is there to help you.  She knows the locations of the third.  
Go, go, GO!!  Sonic boosted out of there to the palace.  After a few minutes, he 
found the robotiser room… Bunnie was being robotisised!  He jumped on the glass, 
broke it and saved Bunnie.  
	-Sugarhog, it's a trap!
	The door closed in a clap!  It locked.  A screen went on: Uncle Chuck.
	-I got you hedgehog!  You won't be able to save your precious Sally!  
Hahahaha!  And the screen shut.  Only 15 minutes left and Sonic had only one 
ring!
	-How to get out? said Sonic.
	-Hmmm.  I know: a ventilation hole!
	-Bunnie, there's no hole here!
	Bunnie jumped and punched the ceiling, after a few minutes, Sonic could 
pass through the hole.
	-Sugarhog, my best guess is the prisons, hurry!
	-Right, thanks Bunnie.
	He dashed through the conditioning ventilation to the prison.  Antoine was 
there… with a ring.  
	-No time to talk Ant, just give me the ring… quick!
	-Oui, oui, here it iz Sonic.
	Antoine gave the ring.  Sonic checked his watch: 4 minutes!  He ran like 
he never did, ever with a ring, to the top of robotropolis.  There was a 
gigantic door with three ring holes.  He put the first and second.  He had no 
time for the third!  But wait… he had kept the one from the race!  Hurry, he put 
it in the third hole… it worked!  Behind there was Sally… and Mecha Sonic.

Chapter 8
Returning to Mobius

	-Holy chilli dog: Mecha Sonic, and there's only two minutes left!  
He ran but Mecha Sonic jumped on him so he had to roll to not be sliced.  He 
couldn't reach Sally with out passing pass his metallic replica.  He tried a 
series of punches, kicks, throws (that Bunnie has showed him) but nothing could 
do.  15 seconds!  Just then, Uncle Chuck jumped on his opponent!
	-Sonic, hurry, touch Sally.
	-Right, thanks Uncle Chuck.
	Sonic reached out and touched Sally's arm.  Instantly, they we're 
teleported to Mobius.
	-Sonic, you saved me!
	-Hey, what wouldn't a hedgehog do for his princess.  But… there still one 
thing.  And he explained about Tails, Mega Man, and the others.
	-Sonic, one day we'll get them all back… I'll do researches with Nicole 
immediately.
	-And I'm going to take the chaos emerald back to Knuckles.
After finding and bringing the emeralds back to his friend, Sonic went directly 
to bed.  There he dreamed about rescuing Tails.  One day… one day…
